We are currently recruiting for a Research/Policy Officer to start asap with a public sector client that is based in BT4 but will be primarily working from home under review.  The successful candidate will be required to start asap.  


Rate of pay:  £16.18ph 


Hours of work:  Fulltime.  Monday to Friday. 9am to 5pm.


Duration: ASAP for 3 months with possible extension


Main Duties includes: 


  • Engage with the Programme Manager and senior managers within the company, in order to understand their research requirements.


  • Retrieve and synthesise information from a wide range of sources, including online databases, from governmental and stakeholders, relating to proposed Digital Projects arising from Deals. 


  • Example areas  - Challenge Funds, Smart Districts, Data Platforms, Incubation Hubs and Digital skills.


  • Provide timely, accurate, high quality and impartial research, analysis, presentations on subjects related to the post and other issues to Programme Manager, Casework Officers, and senior managers within the secretariat;


  • Produce a range of research outputs, including customised research papers or presentations, policy analysis, which are well written, concise and accessible;


  • Present research findings the Programme Manager within required timeframe and respond to questions as required;


  • Proactively forge and develop links with government officials, external research bodies/communities, and other local government and research services as required to undertake the tasks.


  • Carry out other duties that the Programme Manager reasonably required.




  • Must have 1 years experience in planning and undertaking research exercises drawing and analysing information from a variety of sources.


  • Must have 1 years experience preparing and presenting reports.


  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Presentation software.
